A standard tempered safety glass hinged door has a glass thickness of 8 mm. If a laminated safety glass door with a glass thickness of 9 mm or a 10 mm tempered safety glass door is installed, a exchange latch with a notch is required so that the latch continues to drop into the strike plate of the frame without any problems. The exchange latch can be used with Studio and Office locks.
The optionally available „automatic door soft close“ offers even more closing and operating convenience. This takes over the movement of the door leaf on the last centimetres of the closing path and gently guides the door into the end position.
Classic White is Float clear glass in which the iron oxide content and old glass content is filtered out until the natural green tint in the glass is reduced to a minimum.
Digital printing is a ceramic printing ink that is applied to the glass with pinpoint accuracy using a special printer. After printing, the glass is tempered, the ceramic colours are melted and then fired into the glass. This process gives the applied colour a lasting brilliance in terms of colour rendering and light fastness, as well as a high degree of durability and resistance to external influences. In contrast to screen printing, different colours can be printed on the door. Digital printing is used for TSG and LSG doors.
hinge doors:
The DIN direction indicates the direction in which the door is opened. It is determined from the side of the door where the hinges are located. This side is also the structural side of the all-glass door. As a rule, doors open into the room.
sliding doors:
The DIN direction indicates the direction in which the sliding door opens (opening direction). It is determined from the side of the door where the running rail is located. This side is also the structural side of the all-glass sliding door.
An all-glass hinged door can be fitted in any frame. Please note the matching hinge mount (see under frame parts) and rebate depth (see under rebate depth).
TSG is a thermally tempered glass. The panes are heated quickly and evenly to a temperature of over 600° C and then abruptly cooled with cold air. Due to the different cooling rates, the glass surface is under compressive stress and the glass core is under tensile stress. This process makes the glass more resistant to bending and harder. TSG glass is also described as „tempered“ glass. The glass design of TSG doors is generally on the outside. If the pane is damaged, it breaks into many small, rather round pieces. This means that there are no large sharp-edged shards. This ensures a high degree of safety.
– greatly increased bending and compressive strength
– greatly increased impact strength
– Higher thermal shock resistance
Licht & Harmonie fittings are prepared for a frame rebate depth of 24 mm. Fittings for other rebate depths such as 40 mm on request.
Lava Grey is a dark grey coloured glass. Despite its almost black appearance, it is not opaque. Motifs are therefore only optimally visible from the structure side.
The Office lock case is larger, is mounted vertically on the door and is designed for elements with a stronger frequency (e.g. office buildings or public buildings). In contrast to the Studio lock case, the Office lock case cannot be turned overhead, for this reason a DIN direction is always required here.
The Office hinges (also called 3-part hinges) have a maximum load capacity of 55 kg. The holes in the door are vertical. A special frame part is required for the Office hinges, which must be replaced in the frame (see also frame parts). For wooden frames, these are always included in the fitting set. Frame parts for steel frames are enclosed free of charge with the corresponding note.
The Office hinges for VX mounting have a maximum load capacity of 70 kg. The holes in the door are vertical and have a standard hinge reference line (no VX hinge reference line). With this hinge, a door with standard hinge reference lines can be combined with a frame with VX hinge pockets and a VX hinge reference line.
The frame part supplied as standard with a frame cannot be used for an office hinge. For this reason, the frame part on the frame must be replaced. With Licht & Harmonie fitting sets/hinges, frame parts for installing a glass door in a wooden frame are included. If the order specifies that the door is to be installed in a steel frame, the frame parts for the steel frame are included free of charge.
Frame parts for office hinges have a roller height of 39 mm.

Fine and individual motifs can be produced with the help of the sandblasting technique. Compressed air is used to blast a fine aluminium granulate onto the glass and simultaneously sucked off again. Since this roughens the surface, Licht & Harmonie doors are finished with the STC surface (see STC) as standard. The sandblasting technique is used for tempered safety glass.
The dimension of the sliding door depends on the existing wall opening and is manufactured individually. Licht & Harmonie has ready-made sliding door dimensions for standard wall opening dimensions in the Lichtplus sliding door range available from stock:

The ceramic colour is printed onto the base glass through a screen, which e.g. reflects the desired motif, and permanently burnt in during the tempering process. This creates a high-quality and resilient surface coating. At Licht & Harmonie, the screen-printed surface is the standard process for LSG motif doors. Here, the glass design is applied to the inside of the door, giving the door smooth sides on the outside.
Due to the protective layer that STC forms on the glass surface ( sandblasting | Satinato), dirt particles can only adhere very loosely to the surface – this means that cleaning can be carried out more quickly and intensively and cleaning intervals can be extended.
The Studio lock case is the most common lock case variant at licht & harmonie. It has relatively compact external dimensions and is mounted horizontally on the door. The Studio lock case can be used DIN left/right and is delivered DIN left as standard, but can be converted to DIN right by turning the inside and the latch.
For some base glasses, the Float clear panes are processed by the glassworks with rollers or similar in order to give them their own structure. Depending on the structure, the view transmission of these glasses is sometimes significantly reduced. The best-known structured glasses are Mastercarre, Chinchilla and Silvit.
LSG doors consist of 2 TSG panes which are held together by a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) foil.
The glass design is always applied to the inside as a screen print or digital print (photo composite) and is protected from any dirt or damage. The panes and foils are bonded together under heat and vacuum, achieving the desired security properties. In case of damage to the pane, there is a very high level of safety, as the glass is held together by the foil and therefor there are no loose shards.
– high safety
– long-lasting durability
– higher sound insulation due to multi-layer structure
– easy-care smooth surfaces on both sides (insensitive)
A double-leaf element consists of a „moving leaf“ and a „fixed leaf“. The active leaf is a normal hinged door (as with a 1-leaf element). The inactive leaf is fixed at the bottom with a hold-open device and at the top with a catch; instead of the lock case, the inactive leaf is fitted with a counter case with a latch receptacle, which is located on the lock case.
The studio counter case is available in long form (length as lock case) and in some variants also in short form. Special holes in the door are required for the short counter case.
The Office counter box is adapted in size and shape to the Office lock case.
